FAQs

What about my children; at what age do they first see a dentist?

We recommend that our patients bring their children in for that first dental visit right after their first tooth has come in. This provides us with an opportunity to spot and prevent any potential oral health/dental problems; and it also gives the baby and parent a positive, non-threatening dental office experience.

Do you accept referrals?

We love referrals, whether from other dental offices, or from our patients to their family and friends.

What do I do if I have an emergency when the office is closed?

In case of a true dental emergency, please call our emergency pager at 316-579-6492, and let us know the nature of your condition. We’ll return your call as soon as possible, give you helpful information over the phone, then determine if you need to be seen immediately.

My child has had an accident and his/her tooth has been entirely knocked out. What do I do?

If your child’s tooth is knocked out, but there is no imminent medical emergency such as uncontrolled bleeding, unconsciousness, or other bodily injury, please tuck the tooth down in the cheek right away, then contact us immediately to see Dr. Baker as soon as possible. Simply describe the situation over the phone and our office staff will help you determine the safest and most appropriate plan of action.

How can I have whiter teeth?

We are one of the few offices in town to offer in-office "Power Whitening" techniques, currently the Zoom! method. We also offer the more traditional, at-home, supervised method. Simply call for a free consultation, so that we can determine the potential for whitening your teeth, based on their current color and the causes of any discoloration. We are offering regular Zoom! in office whitening for a special price of $475.

I really don't like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax?

We understand that many people have qualms about having their teeth worked on. We strive to help you relax using a variety of means. Including nitrous oxide (laughing gas), or premedication, oral sedation, IV sedation with a Certified Nurse Anesthetist, and  local anesthesia to keep you comfortable.

I want my front teeth to look better, but I don't want to wear braces, what can you do to help?

Dr. Baker has a number of ways to improve the look of your front teeth without the use of braces. For those who don't want braces or have worn down teeth, an all porcelain restoration can be bonded to your teeth to change the color, correct the alignment, and give you that ideal smile with a natural appearance. It will take approximately 3-4 weeks rather than 2 or 3 years. Please view the before & after photos on our website. Call 316-685-9276 for an appointment and we can construct a three-dimensional wax up model of your own smile possibilities.

As a courtesy we will file your insurance claims for you, and can help you maximize the benefits of whatever plan you or your employer have chosen.
